The idea for Cape Town Startup Week came about from a coffee-house conversation between Fred Roed, CEO of Heavy Chef, Sandras Phiri, Chapter Director of Startup Grind Cape Town and Kerry Petrie, GM of Silicon Cape. In true Cape Town startup fashion, the response to the proposal on the table was “heck, why not?”
