EG and the Leadership Development Network: Professor Colin Mayer

We are delighted to invite you to an evening with Professor Colin Mayer for a discourse on ‘Why Business Needs Purpose’ followed by a Q and A and roundtable discussion. This is a partnership between the Saíd Business School (University of Oxford) Reluctantly Brave, EY, EG and the Leadership Development Network.

"The purpose of a company is to perform functions that will benefit communities, societies, customers and in the process of doing that the owners of a company generate profits."

As entrepreneurs we should be shaping this agenda, connecting with each other and helping one another find purpose, fellowship, support and ultimately success. Business can be a force for good, but that change must be driven by us.

Attendance is strictly limited to 30 individuals at each location, to enable a full and engaging discussion. Please RSVP to secure your place.

We will be in conversation with Colin Mayer by livestream with the Sáid Business School in Oxford together with the other locations.

Colin Peter Mayer CBE FBA is the Peter Moores Professor of Management Studies at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. Professor Mayer was a Harkness Fellow at Harvard University, a Houblon-Norman Fellow at the Bank of England and has had visiting positions at Columbia, MIT and Stanford Universities.

Professor Mayer is leading the Future Of The Corporation initiative for the British Academy.

Professor Mayer was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to business education and the administration of justice in the economic sphere in the 2017 New Year Honours.
